Another Watermelon Dress

After all, watermelon is her favorite fruit!

When we received Ahnalin's
referral paperwork, 6 years ago,
watermelon was listed
as her favorite food.

And that first night,
at the Gloria Hotel in Nanchang,
she ate more watermelon
than I thought was possible for a 1 year old
to eat!

So when Ahnalin found this
remnant of watermelon fabric
in my stash,
she begged me to make her a
new summer dress.

She loves the back of this dress,
and picked out green
rick rack to accent it.

We took these pictures while
visiting Nana and Papa
in Grass Valley.
Ahnalin misses them
and the house we lived in for most
of her life.

I thought this was the last picture,
but Ahnalin reminded me that
she needed to do her
"regular Ahnalin pose".

So there it is.

Tomorrow is Independence day!
I know we will be eating watermelon
as part of our celebration!

Happy Sewing!

Such a cute dress. I made one like that with the tie in back years ago for my daugher. So so cute and happy!
