Aprons for Christmas -A Giveaway!

Christmas Aprons!

Preparation for the holidays means lots
and lots of time spent in the kitchen.

And so you simply MUST have a darling,
festive apron!

And, it would be even more fun if your
little ones have matching aprons!

The Yaya's Apron pattern provides
5 sizes in one Ebook.

Because, little ones get messy!

And don't you think their dollies need aprons to match?
The dolly size fits an 18" doll.

You can even wear an apron over your pajamas
and feel well put together!
(yes, you are seeing Ahnalin in PJs from Target!
Sigh.... I am busy with customs and packing to move so
I had to buy her some pjs......)

Last year I  made matching aprons
for India, Ahnalin, and my niece Emma
for our cookie baking day.
It was snowing outside and I could not get the girls
out of their jammies,
so they just put the aprons over the top and started baking.

I even embroidered their names on them!
The Yaya's Apron front has a nice open space
for embroidery.

So, why am I reminding you of
all the fun things about my Yaya's Apron pattern?

Well.........

I don't want you to forget that you can make your own
Yaya's Aprons for yourself,
your friends,
your family,
or even to sell.

You can purchase the Ebook
or by clicking on the box at the upper right of my blog.
The Ebook is $9.95 and
provides a misses (one size fits most) size,
3 children's sizes and a dolly size!

And now for the Giveaway......

How do you get to receive a colorful,
festive and fun Yaya's Apron
in the size of your choice from me?

You can have 5 entries,
so leave a comment for each separately.
1. Leave a comment about your favorite apron memory.
2. Become a follower or tell me if you are one.
3. Become a friend of Sivjegoose on Facebook.
4. Follow me on Twitter and post this giveaway.
5. Post about this giveaway on your blog or on your Facebook page.

The winner will receive a Christmas Yaya's Apron in the size of their choice,
made by me!

I am busy packing for our move,
and sewing a custom smocked dress for a client so I am going
to give you until Wednesday night to enter.
I will draw the winner and on Thanksgiving morning!!

And next week, I will list some aprons on my Etsy store
if you just want to purchase a Christmas Yaya's Apron.

Happy Sewing Everyone!

I have many favorite memories of aprons, but your post reminded me of one. We would have baking days where we would not take off our pajamas and slip the aprons over them. Then have a movie marathon enjoying our fresh baked cookies. :)

My favorite apron memory is my mom always wearing her grandmother's apron while baking Christmas cookies. Aprons are so touching because they can be passed down from generation to generation for YEARS---and that warmth and love never leaves the apron or its wearers!

I remember a cute pink gingham apron with cross stitch roses on it that my mother had when I was growing up. My mom has been gone for over 33 years now I wish I had her apron.

How cute are the girls in their jammies and aprons. I would live in my jammies if I didn't have to leave the house. Happy Thanksgiving.

I wear an apron everyday at school. In fact I feel naked without it, with my paper clips, eraser, keys and phone in it. I love to clutter it up with cute seasonal pins, or better yet, wear a seasonal apron!

I am the first one in my family to use aprons, so I guess my favorite apron memories are of me cooking with my little daughter, she wearing her apron too!
Thanks!

I love Aprons. I never knew my grandmother very well, as she did not speak any English and lived 1000 miles away. But the best picture I have of her, is one where she is stirring a large pot, and she is wearing a perfect vintage apron. Every Christmas she would send my Dad a box filled with Italian cookies she had made. I can envision her baking in her little kitchen wearing that sweet little apron :-)

Hi, Sivje...favorite Apron memory? My mom taking her apron off before a meal and flipping it around to the cleaner side...and not changing it back until after the dishes were done! Or, my first 4-H Project was a hoop apron with three pockets across the bottom. Or, my most remembered and treasured wedding gift-a beautiful lavendar gingham apron with the cross-stitch on it-a gift from my husbands grandmother...or the denim overall apron I now wear sewing with the three pockets at the bottom to hold my tools...the overalls? A worn pair of my husbands....

My apron memory is my grandmother Lillian's red apron and her wearing it. Guess what I have in my own possession: yes, that apron!! Aprons remind me of warm fuzzy moments of home. What darling aprons you create!! Keep up that creative work. And, I could use an apron here in Eugene, Oregon!!!

Favorite apron memory.....My mom never really wore an apron, but she always sewed. I remember one Christmas she made matching camouflage aprons for my Aunt and Uncle who both LOVED hunting. My Aunts apron had ecru eyelet lace around hers to make it girly. They were cute.

I can't believe all you are doing and moving! You poor girl I hate moving!!!
My mother always wore an apron and my kids use to go running up to her when they were little and play peek-a-boo by hiding their heads under the skirt tail of her apron and thinking that no one could see them! My Mom is gone now and my kids are in their 30's but it still such a happy memory.

Your aprons are just so sweet

Happy Sewing

My favorite apron memory is actually kind of funny. I grew up with our kitchen soap bottle always wearing an apron. It was great for catching the drips from the bottle and the bottle never got slippery. Well I continued the tradition and have had people search everywhere for my soap when they want to help with dishes and I just tell them to look for the apron! :)

My first & favorite apron memory takes me back 40 years to 7th grade. I needed an apron for home-ec class & I forgot to tell my parents. From school, I called my Mom at work to see if it would be possible to get an apron. Later that day my Dad went to a local store and bought an apron and brought it to me. I lost my dad 8 years later but still have the apron and cherish it to this day.

I remember my Granny making me a lavender apron with the old fashioned ladies on it. It had a little pocket, and was made from organdy. I can still *see* that apron and wish I could find a pattern like it. Or better yet the apron itself!

My favorite "apron" memory was/is having the apron that my greatgrandmother made for me back in the 1960's. She made one for me so I could help her clean the house, and I adored all of her aprons! She had an apron for each day of the week, and then all of the special ones for the holidays.

Hi Sivje,
I'd love to win one of your beautiful aprons! My favorite apron memory is from 2 summers ago when the Kit American Girl movie came out. My girls and I had a tea party for our friends with a 1930s theme. I made them dresses like Kit and Ruthie's and I made a bunch of aprons for everyone at the party. We hung them on a clothesline outside the porch where we had the tea party. It was fun and I got great pictures, too.

My favorite apron memory would be making Christmas cookies with my daughters. Anytime I wear an apron for pie making or cookie making is special.
I have a couple of aprons that my grandmother made for me and those are very special to me.

I remember my mom wearing a red apron! She gave me a little half apron that I could wear while baking. I loved working in the kitchen with my mom and wearing my own apron as a child! What great memories, from baking rolls to making candies or beans and cornbread! Thanks for posting this what fun!

Hi Sivje. I have great apron memories. My grandmother and mother are both great at sewing (that gene didn't transfer down to me....), and so every Saturday at my grandma's house, they would saw, and saw, and saw some more. My grandmother would give me an old apron, and I would hem it, put buttons on it, and every time she would take it all off so I could it all over again. I thought I was such a big girl!!!!!

I miss my grandma....she survived the Nazi regime during WWII, and was taken away by Alzheimer after I moved to the States. I remember her complaing to me on the phone because I wouldn't go visit her every saturday anymore...she didn't remember from one week to the next that I had moved away.

I have no apron memories. :( I would love to have a beautiful ya'ya's apron to start some though. We have many memories in the kitchen with my granny, but she never wore an apron!

My favorite apron memory is that I was able to make some aprons for a new friend and her husband when they were married last year. She had told me that she wanted a special apron because her grandma had one when she was little and she always remember it. She wanted one to become a family treasure. So I made her one. She loved it! And her husband got one for the grilling. But I love your YaYa apron, and following your blog. Thank you for sharing a piece of your world with us. Good luck on the move!

Going on over to Facebook now.

I don't remember ever seeing my grandmother without her apron. I assume she must have taken it off for church, weddings and funerals but you couldn't prove it by me!
I now have a granddaughter of my own and would love to have an apron for her for when we bake together :)
