Happy Mother's Day!!
I know how blessed I am!
I have the two most wonderful daughters in the whole world!
Now, all of you mamas out there may beg to differ,
as your children are the most wonderful children in the whole world to you.
But that is what being a mama is all about!
We are chosen to parent the children that God thinks are the best fit for us!
At times, we may question that,
and our sanity,
and God's wisdom
OR
His sense of humor!
But we know that our children have caused us to grow in ways
we never could have grown without them.
We know that we are the mother's we are because of our own children.
And we are the mother's we are because of how our own Mothers
have invested their lives into us.
I know how blessed I am.
I have a wonderful mother,
the beautiful Barbara Jean.
Thank you Mommy for being the best mother in the world,
and the perfect mother for me.
As Mother's Day is always on a Sunday,
my Mother's Day started like nearly every Sunday.
I am blessed to be able to be a part of the
Celebration Arts Team at
I sing on the vocal team.
My hubby plays lead guitar in the band
and India serves on the drama team
and the Ultimate Adventure vocal team.
We LOVE getting to serve these ministries!
So, we get to church around 6:30 AM to rehearse
before the services.
After the 3 services, (which were fabulous as usual today!!),
we got to head home.
I got to take a
NAP!
Thank you family!!!
Then Don cooked steaks while
India made the salad and potatoes and
India made the salad and potatoes and
Ahnalin set the table!
Thank you family!!!
Thank you family!!!
Then I was blessed with my beautiful gifts.
Ahnalin had been working for the last two weeks on her gifts to me.
Since she is 5, this meant that I had to staple
a lot of things with my eyes closed so I would still be surprised.
I also had to un-gunk her sewing machine
a few times "without looking at anything!!!"
I also had to find a frame to give to her so she
could "surprise" me with more of her art.
I want to keep all of these things forever.
They are true gifts from the heart.
"Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he blesses her"
Proverbs 31:28
I pray all of you mamas out there know how much you are loved.
I hope you are blessed today.
And for those of you who miss your own mamas
and children, I pray you are comforted.
And for those of you beautiful hearts out there who
long to hold children in your arms,
I pray your arms and hearts will be filled.
I know, and remember well, that pain.
And for those of you who are raising children alone,
I honor and respect you for doing the hard job
of mothering even when it seems thankless.
You are all blessings.
In His Grace,
Sivje

Also, your blog is lovely.. the things you make are beautiful (smocking! Wow girl!) & I can't get over your patience. I want to make something once..and that's it.. you've done so much work on your apron pattern.. I'm in awe. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
