I know that you are thrilled that your girls are showing an interest in what you love to do. My sweetie hasn't shown any interest at all! I did get her to make a pillowcase once but that was it.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving those lovely comments. You have to be so very careful...And I know you have a perfectionist. I would go for sewing diagonal lines...drawing them first, then Ahnalin has a guide to sew on. Actually, when you stitch in the ditch, you don't actually do that...you stay a needle space or so (a hair) from that seam line--then mistakes aren't quite as obvious. If you wanted you could use something sparkly and do a running stitch instead of machine stitching those diagonal lines. BTW...do those longest diagonal first.

RosieqRoseiqnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902379652364204415.post-25917907496231552492010-07-19T10:06:04.973-07:002010-07-19T10:06:04.973-07:00No advice. And I think we're kind of the same. I figure the best way to learn is dive in. Of course, that drives the perfectionist in me crazy... and it can be quite wasteful...

Hope y'all have a blast finishing them.Red Henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03013804657321616824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902379652364204415.post-54081041516703226322010-07-19T08:33:36.601-07:002010-07-19T08:33:36.601-07:00Hi Sivje :)

There is nothing like free-hand machine stippling to learn stitching, speed, hand-machine coordination but Ahnalin might be too young to attempt this (quilting/stitching through finger tips is not fun).pduranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08087457343664292273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902379652364204415.post-62356496505879868932010-07-19T06:41:05.462-07:002010-07-19T06:41:05.462-07:00I am not an expert either.. far from it but, I her...I am not an expert either.. far from it but, I here are a couple of links that have helped me..

Look here...
http://anyonecanquilt.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/machine-quilting-101.html

and here
http://anyonecanquilt.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/01/summery-stitching-in-the-rain.html

Good luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902379652364204415.post-63573942045262395612010-07-19T05:36:35.762-07:002010-07-19T05:36:35.762-07:00I'm a wanna-be quilter too - I'm just not ...I'm a wanna-be quilter too - I'm just not very good at it! Then spray the other side of the backing and lay the top on it, and then smooth from the inside out. Then safety pin like crazy!
