I love the coverage of this one, I am such a messy baker.

Anywho, Christmas is probably my favorite time of the year. We have a ton of great traditions I look forward to and it's hard to pick just one, so you are stuck reading about my TWO favorite's. The first is I make perogi for the whole family from scratch. They are a Polish dumpling and in my family, they are stuffed with kraut or potato. They take me a full two days to make, but they are my family's favorite treat. My other favorite is another Polish tradition. (Did I mention my family is all Polish on my Mom's side?) We break a thin, wafer-like break called oplatek (pronounced o-plot-key) into several large pieces. Each person takes a piece for themselves. Then we take turns breaking small pieces off of each other's oplatek and exchanging kisses, hugs, and Christmas wishes. This was always a great test for boyfriends visiting for Christmas dinner!

You will post some of your favorite traditions in the future right?!? I love reading about these too. In fact, I might just borrow this idea to post on my blog!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902379652364204415.post-11719037472206096612009-11-19T15:49:20.255-08:002009-11-19T15:49:20.255-08:001.
